Seven years ago, a black, fuzzy toy poodle “MoMo” wandered from the streets of Texas to our hearts. She was rescued from the streets but was never chosen because of her older age. We didn’t mind so she trotted into our home with loads of health problems that came with old age and poor care by previous guardian. Through trying to help with her bad breath, serious arthritis, poor coat and many more ailments, we learnt the differences between the so-called “premium” pet foods from the real premium, 100% natural and human-grade pet foods.

However, it wasn’t till when MoMo was diagnosed with end-stage breast cancer at age 14 that we finally realized the many limitations and inadequacies of conventional allopathic medicine. Since then, we began to embrace the natural and holistic views on health, both for us and our animals.

O.I.C. is the acronym of  “Oh, I See!”   We want people to feel enlightened through our presence and messages. It was, however, never our intention to set up our own shop.

O.I.C. first emerged as a website that came along when my books, “Natural Diets for Dogs” (Chinese) and “Natural Diets for Cats” (Chinese) were published. At that time, feedback from readers indicated that although the books were quite well received, they’ve caused much frustration as the natural foods and products that were recommended in the books were difficult to find. The natural pet supplies market in Hong Kong has grown rapidly since then. It has now become overwhelming and confusing to choose the right natural products that your animal needs.

Those were the reasons why we decided to open our own small independent shop, a place where you can find all the fine natural essentials that we’ve carefully pre-selected for your furry companions. We’re also here for you as your reliable guide on everyday natural and holistic companion animal care.

Many bumpy rides later, O.I.C. Pet Wellness Boutique is finally here! Not sure if this is a smart business move, but it’s definitely our dream project.
